Two members of the MQO group went to the Single Photon Workshop (SPW) 2022 in Seoul. The conference took place at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) from October 31st to November 4th. We presented the following contributions:
- Thomas Hummel – Nanosecond Gating of Superconducting Nanowire Single-Photon Detectors (talk)
- Nina Amelie Lange – Cryogenic Spontaneous Parametric Down-Conversion (poster)
We enjoyed the conference a lot, had some fruitful discussions, got in contact with interesting new people, and tried out traditional Korean food at lunch and at the conference dinner. To get more impressions from SPW, have a look at the official picture gallery on their website.
In addition to attending the conference, we did some sightseeing in Seoul. We visited the fascinating Gyeongbokgung Palace, and the Namsan Seoul Tower from where we had a fantastic view on the city at night.
