The workshop

HedwiQ and quantum aktiv present

The quantum world at your fingertips

A new way of experiencing education

on 17–18 February 2026 at the Heinz Nixdorf MuseumsForum Paderborn

The HedwiQ project and the network of the“quantum aktiv”and “Quantum Future Education” funding initiatives of the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) invite you to experience the quantum world in a new way. The event is aimed at multipliers from the research and education sectors, as well as representatives from museums and other organisations who wish to make quantum technologies tangible and accessible to a wide audience through their educational programmes.

In short, interactive sessions, the funded projects will present research findings demonstrating how quantum technologies can be communicated in a practical and forward-looking manner. You are warmly invited to come along and try out the various exhibits and formats for yourself, discuss them and take away concrete ideas for your own educational work – from teaching concepts to experiments, exhibits and learning materials.

What makes this event special is the direct exchange with the projects, enabling you to incorporate the offerings and formats directly into your own educational mission. Together with you, we want to find ways to raise awareness of quantum technologies among school pupils and students and to inspire future professionals for this exciting field of the future.

To this end, not only the “Quantum Aktiv” funding scheme but also the BMFTR’s “Quantum Future Professionals” skilled workforce agenda provide the science policy framework: Through this agenda, the BMFTR aims to make opportunities available, open up access and spark interest through measures spanning the entire life course of future quantum technology professionals, from school to working life.

The event’s supporting programme also offers a variety of opportunities to share experiences and initiate new collaborations for the future, featuring specialist talks and a guided tour of the museum.

Registration is free and can be made via the Heinz Nixdorf MuseumsForum https://www.hnf.de/veranstaltungen/workshops/date/2026/02/17/cal/event/tx_cal_phpicalendar/quantenwelt-zum-anfassen.html
