Our group has collaborated the Integrated Quantum Optics Group on a new publication in the journal "APL Quantum". The article by Timon Schapeler analyzes the practical considerations of assigning photon numbers using high-precision arrival-time measurements with a single superconducting nanowire single-photon detector (SNSPD) and discusses in detail the probabilities of misassignment with different models. This is important for the development of detectors with photon-number resolution and for applications such as the development of highly accurate heralded single-photon sources based on spontaneous parametric down-conversion.
