Research & Facilities
Photonic devices and materials are the focus of the group's research activities. Here, modern methods of nanofabrication and -technology are employed with the aim of developing novel devices for photonics, plasmonics and nonlinear processes. In order to enhance and to control the interaction of light and matter in these structures, semiconductors with strongly nonlinear optical properties such as zinc oxide (ZnO) are used. Additionally, molecular materials with photochromic properties such as diarylethenes and polyelectrolytes are investigated. The goal is to implement device functionality in these structures.
