About us

We study fundamental physics and applications of quantum states of light consisting of several 10, 100 and 1000 photons. This scale is crucial for demonstrating true quantum improvement over classical systems in many areas, including metrology, computation and communication.

Research

The MQO group's research can be divided into three areas:

  • Development of the enabling technology (in the cleanroom)
  • Cryogenic nonlinear optoelectronics (in the optics lab)
  • Advanced quantum photonic data processing (on the computer)
