Rebecca Aschwanden and Yves Köppeler spent a month at the Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra, Australia in the research group of Dr. Sergey Kruk. The stay could be realised thanks to the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
Research was conducted on the asymmetric generation of higher harmonic generation (HHG) using silicon-silicon nitride nanoresonators. The samples required for the experiments were produced in the clean room in Paderborn, while the optical experiments were carried out jointly in Canberra. In addition to the scientific work, the time was also used to get to know the Phd students of the research group better. The collaboration between the two working groups has already existed for several years and was intensified by these visits.
‘It was an incredible month! I am really grateful for this opportunity to meet new people, learn from them and explore Australia. Thank you to everyone who made this possible,’ says Yves Köppeler.
During the next year, two research students from Australian National University will visit Paderborn to jointly work on the project here in Germany.
