From 13th – 17th May, Benjamin Brecht joined the ICQOQI conference in Minsk, Belarus, one of the long-standing quantum optics meetings. He presented the IQO’s work on the “Tailored generation, manipulation, and application of photonic temporal modes” in an invited talk.
The conference, which took place at the Hotel Belarus, was an ideal opportunity to reach out to the Eastern European quantum optics community and helped to strengthen existing links, e.g. to the University of Olomouc, Czech Republic, or the University of Warsaw, Poland. Particularly in light of the European efforts to increase the scientific co-operation across Europe, with an explicit demand for a stronger inclusion of widening countries, the IQO’s participation in ICQOQI was highly relevant and timely.
