Every year the Scientific American publishes the “The Top 10 Emerging Technologies” of the year. This year the, the research on metalenses is among these emerging technologies. For several years, our group is studying these new kinds of lenses that have only the thickness of a fraction of a human hair and several interesting properties.

In the category "Cross-Fields" Professor Zentgraf is listed as one of the most cited researchers.

Dr. Sergey Kruk from the Australian National University is visiting our group in Paderborn. He will join our reseach on optical metasurfaces for a period of three weeks.
The University Society awarded the prize for the best Master Thesis in the subject Natural Science and Engineering to Philip Georgi. The prize was handed over at the New Years reception of the University Paderborn.
After sucessful installation our new OPA laser system is in operation. For future experiments we will have access to even shorter laser pulses over a wide tuning range.

Our review article about nonlinear metasurfaces is now published in Nature Reviews Materials. The article gives an overview of the recent research in the field of optical metasurfaces for the control of nonlinear light propagation and generation.
