Transition from Bachelor to Master
The transition from a Bachelor's to a Master's degree is a change of course, which must be applied for accordingly. Two scenarios are possible:
The request to change the study course must be documented early by applying via PAUL either until February 15th (summer semester) or August 15th (winter semester). All examinations must be completed by the end of the semester (March 31 or September 30). The Bachelor's certificate can typically be submitted later. It is advisable to coordinate details with the registrar’s office.
In exceptional cases, the first lectures from the master's program can be heard towards the end of the bachelor's program. A necessary condition is that all exams from semesters 1 to 4 have been successfully completed and 20 additional credit points have been earned. In any case, the project should be discussed with the academic advisor. The selected master's lecture cannot be selected via PAUL, but must be applied for via the "Application for admission to an (early) master's lecture" (see download below). As soon as the completion of all examinations is within reach, the regular transition (see above, "regular transition upon (expected) completion of all examinations") should be initiated.
